Meredith Diers at all chapels

Introduction of Food Bank Speaker for the Upper Division Chapel

The Casady Cans Do Food Drive is part of the annual statewide Students Against Hunger Food Drive.  Last year 150 schools raised 140,000 pounds of food and $75,000, which provided 490,000 meals.

The Casady Cans Do Food Drive facilitated by the Casady YAC (Youth Active in the Community) is once again partnering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the week of October 26-30, 2015, NEXT WEEK, to raise donations that will help provide food for our neighbors in need.   YAC members will collect and count cans and money on a daily basis.  $1 buys 5 meals.  Bring your donations to the Gaylord Student Center from 7:30-7:45 am.  Let's beat our last year's all schools collection of 4,456 cans and $135.

We want to do the food drive because it is the “right thing to do,”   but to help take a bite out of hunger, the winning class will get  An out of uniform OR an extra out to lunch.  Follow daily results, pictures, and memories at the Casady Students Against Hunger blog: http://casadystudentsagainsthunger.blogspot.com/

Here to tell us more about the issue of hunger in our state and how we can help is Meredith Diers, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma Special Events Coordinator."

Meridith spoke to all chapels and inspired us to give as well as raised our awareness of the work the Food Bank does to help food insecure Oklahomans of all ages.
